Weight Loss for New Mothers

The Best Way to Lose Weight After Having a Baby
Losing the weight you gained throughout your pregnancy is a top priority, add a post pregnancy workout to your arsenal to help lose this weight fast. Fortunately for you there are a lot of exercises available that are both effective and fun. The following three examples will help you supercharge your workout and you'll be back into your pre-pregnancy clothes before you know it.
The Reverse Curl: A woman who has just given birth must often strengthen her abdominals back up, and reverse curls are great for this. In this exercise, you need to lie down on the floor (keeping your knees bent) and face the ceiling. Your feet need to be just above your hips, your arms need to be lying on the floor next to your trunk, your head rests on the floor, your neck is relaxed and, as you breathe in and out, you bring your abs in and lift your hips off of the floor to the same levels as your ribs. Slowly go back to your starting position and then repeat the exercise. Try to do twenty reps if you can manage it. It's okay if you can't do 20 in the beginning, you can work up to that number. Then try working up to 50.
This exercise is fantastic for making your abs stronger and getting rid of the hanging gut, not to mention helping your posture and your level of confidence. Forearm plank breathing is another exercise you can use to lose pregnancy weight. Once in this position you will lower yourself until your forearms are flat on the floor. Straighten your legs to make a straight line. Inhaling deeply through the nose and letting it out through the mouth while squeezing the abs and hold the position. Next do a few pushups. Repeat these steps three times. This exercise will help you strengthen your core and correct your posture.
Air Bike: For this post-natal exercise, begin with your back flat on the ground and raise your opposite arm and leg at the same time and touch your elbow to your opposite knee. Repeat. This is wonderful for burning lots of calories and it helps to strengthen your abs, which is very important to women who have just had babies. Getting that baby weight off means maintaining a good healthy diet and exercise routine three or more days per week. In no time at all you will see the rewards of your hard work as the weight comes off.
